Obviously, I'm not doing a very good job of keeping this blog up-to-date. Anyone that knows me very well would understand it's just how I do things ;-)
Anyway, today would be Whitney's 26th birthday and I am missing him today, just like I do every other day. The sky is blue and I hear the birds outside singing and chirping so I know it WILL be a good day. Later today I plan to go plant some pansies in the bed we've made near his grave(I hate that word) and yesterday I really thought he would say, "Gosh, Mom - PANSIES?!? thanks a lot!" But they look great all winter when everything else is to drab, so yes, Whit, Pansies:)
I am officially on retirement countdown as it is FAST approaching. the last official day is December 31, but Alice has a new girl starting tomorrow for training so I won't really have a desk so... catch me if you can! Also, there is a great retirement celebration scheduled for November 13 and I am very excited about that plus the fact that Patrick, Amy and Deacon (Walker, too) will be here!!! This will be Deacon's first visit to Arkansas and EVERYONE is so anxious to meet him. It should be great having them here -- we can hardly wait. and on that note, things to do - things to do - gotta get busy.
P.S. Still haven't even tried to put a picture on here -- maybe Patrick can tutor me when he's here.
