Joining the blogging world

I've decided that it is time for this Stinson family to join the blogging world!  We enjoy Patrick and Amy's blog sooo much - with all of the news about Deacon and their lives in Ohio.   Laura Landers does a great job with her blog too--such a great way to keep up with the happenings of our friends and family, so here goes...

We have just returned from a trip to Ohio to see Patrick, Amy and Deacon.  Jim's mom and dad, a/k/a Nana and Pa, traveled with us.  It was their first plane trip in a long time -- Nana is not a fan of flying but she did great! Deacon was born on Nana's 80th birthday - January 12, 2008 and she needed to finally meet her "birthday twin"!  He has grown so much since I left there in early April -- such a cutie and such a sweet, happy disposition -- always smiling! 

Jim and I are traveling to NW Ark. on Wednesday to pick up our new Yorkie "furbaby", Sophie! Our sweetest Yorkie, Wicket, died in late March of this year.  She was nine years old and the sweetest baby ever -- she was soooo special to us.  She was such a joy for so many years and she really helped us through some tough times after Whitney's death.  I have struggled with wanting another dog/not wanting another dog...potty training, travel troubles, etc. but I miss Wicket and her companionship so much that I decided that it was time.  Do you notice that I have been saying "I" a lot?  Jim was not 100% on board with this decision, but he wasn't going to like Wicket either if I remember correctly.  I'm sure that baby Sophie will quickly melt his heart!  We'll post some pictures of our new girl when we get her here (and when I figure out how to do that!)
