Greatest Technology for distant families...

We had our Christmas "skype" call on our Webcam from the Ohio crew. They gave us a webcam for our gift this year and IT IS GREAT! They call us and we just LOVE getting to see them on our computer. We wonder what sweet Deacon must be thinking -- I think he recognizes us and tries to reach us --it is so sweet. When Amy opened the big box that held all of the wrapped gifts, I had thrown in a little Christmas rubber ducky that caught Deacon's eye as soon as the top came off of the box. The simple joys :) He went on to bigger and better things and seemed to really love them all. Puzzle pieces with big knob handles, immediately to the mouth. Patrick said they might become "throwing stars". A pint-sized basketball goal that cheers when the ball goes thru, and his favorite from us, I think, had to be the Leap Frog drum. His very favorite book is , Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb where the monkeys are drumming on a drum. I think he will be the sweetest Christmas "monkey" ever drumming on his educational drum. The big kids opened a couple of things but had already opened some of theirs from us.

It's the next best thing to being there! Thanks, kiddos, for a wonderful gift to us! The camera and the time spent in front of it. We love you all. Merry Christmas!

Phyllis, I am absolutely loving your blog - your postings are great and the pics are too. (Can't wait to recover my camera from leaving it in Brinkley!) Keep it up and enjoy the results of your "forcing festive" - that's a phrase I've had to borrow here too. Whitney's picture is part of our tree trimmings. Yep, he has the best seat in God's house. Loving the Ohio group's postings too - hooray for webcams! Loved you, S
